Welcome to Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church! Our congregation was established in 1868, and it has existed ever since to serve our community with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us for one of our many activities and worship with us at a service that fits your schedule. You will find us warm and welcoming!

The original founders of our congregation were settlers from Germany who came to the United States to begin a new life. Much has changed since those early years. We stopped holding German services decades ago, and our members have many different nationalities. One thing remains the same, however: Our desire to share the message of Jesus with everyone in our community.

Since our beginnings in the 1800s, our congregation has been deeply committed to the education of young people. Our church offers many Bible-based educational opportunities for children as well as for adults. We have a preschool for 3-4 year-olds and a K-8 elementary school. We support Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School near New Ulm for Christian education during what can be the difficult high school years.

Our congregation is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS is a world-wide group of Lutheran churches based in Milwaukee, WI. As a member of the WELS, we support mission work throughout the United States and the world, including Africa, India, and Latin America. For more detailed information on the WELS and on what we teach and believe, please check out the following link: “This We Believe” for the WELS.
